My new husband and I visited State of the Art Tattoo the day after our elopement, and it ended up being one of the absolute highlights of our trip (and honestly, our whole wedding experience!). Since my husband can’t wear a traditional wedding ring for safety reasons at work, he decided to get a ring tattoo instead. I told him this was his area to research, since I was buried in all the other trip planning—and wow, did he hit the jackpot with this place.

We booked our appointments over a year in advance (they probably thought we were a little nuts), but from the moment we walked in, we knew we’d made the right call. The shop was immaculate—clean, organized, and with a vibe that felt both professional and chill (which we really appreciated as we were exhausted from our elopement and excursions). The entire staff made us feel so welcome, like old friends instead of new clients. They even provided us lunch, which was such a thoughtful touch. Tattoo shops just aren't like this in the States.

Rory was our artist, and he is nothing short of phenomenal. He tattooed an amazing piece on my arm that has quickly become my most detailed and realistic tattoo. (Even if he did roast me a little for choosing “a can of tomatoes”... totally worth it.) My husband’s ring tattoo turned out beautifully—it’s simple, symbolic, and exactly what he wanted. We both love his compass piece.

We’ve been back home for a while now and we’re still telling friends and family about getting tattooed in Ireland. It was such a meaningful experience for us, and we couldn’t imagine a better place or more talented artist to mark such a special occasion.

Absolutely blown away by the experience at State of the Art Tattoos.
From the moment I walked in, I was looked after better than I’ve experienced anywhere else. The reception and waiting area were spotless and welcoming, with free snacks and drinks to enjoy while I waited. The staff were constantly checking in to make sure I was comfortable, asking if I needed anything or if I wanted a coffee.

During my tattoo session, they even asked what I’d like to eat and had food delivered right to the studio I felt genuinely cared for the whole time. Everyone I met was down-to-earth, friendly, and incredibly easy to talk to.

The service was next level, and the tattoo quality speaks for itself. If you’re looking for a studio that goes above and beyond, this is it. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.
